BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS

Overview

The aim of the School Business Community Partnership Brokers (Partnership Broker) program is to facilitate stakeholder engagement, build community capacity and infrastructure and drive the government's education reform and social inclusion agendas to improve education and transition outcomes for all young people.

This will be achieved through the brokerage of partnerships between Education and Training Providers, Business and Industry, Community Groups and Parents and Families to foster a strategic, whole of community approach that suports young people to remain engaged, or reengage, in education and realise their full social and economic potential. Brokers will work with these stakeholders to build new partnerships and enhance existing partnerships. They will identify the needs of the region, help partners to agree on how they can work together towards a common goal and support partnerships to achieve their goals.

Establishment of the Partnership Broker program is based on the principle that learning and development of young people is the collective responsibility of governments, education and training providers, business and industry as well as parents and families, and the broader community.

The Building Partnership section of this website includes information on the Partnership Broker program, toolkits and resources for partnerships, examples of best practice, research and information about what we are doing at a local level. "A region where diverse and responsive partnerships ensure that all young people can contribute positively to the social and economic wellbeing of our community."
