SCHOOLS AND EDUCATION

An outcome of the Partnership Broker is that Education and training providers can partner with stakeholders in their community to ensure all young people participate in challenging, relevant and engaging learning that broadens personal aspirations and improves education and transition outcomes. In order to achieve this outcome, Partnership Brokers can focus on building partnerships that support education and training providers to:

  • share responsibility for learning
  • create opportunities for learning beyond the ‘classroom’
  • create opportunities to bring expertise into the ‘classroom’
  • cater for different learning styles, preferences and life circumstances
  • broaden and deepen learning experiences
  • provide mentoring opportunities for young people
  • expand awareness of linkages between education and career opportunities
  • improve young people’s employability, career development and life skills
  • engage or reengage all young people in education or training through to Year 12 or equivalent attainment
  • make classroom learning more meaningful to their students by connecting this learning to real life applications
  • recognise and accredit the learning that students do in non-classroom contexts, for example in the community and/or in the workplace

We have put together research, links, local opportunities and projects that will help support schools and education providers. Click on the links below to find out more about each.
